BYF Leadership Strengthens Governance Capacity Through Director Development Training

The Chairman of the Bougainville Youth Federation (BYF), Mr. Michael Dave, together with BYF Secretariat Ms. Nellie Onabake, successfully completed the Papua New Guinea Institute of Directors (PNGID) Director Development Course held in Arawa from 29–30 June 2026.
The two-day training brought together participants from various corporate organizations, associations and institutions providing an opportunity to strengthen leadership and governance capabilities. The course focused on key areas including corporate governance, board leadership, directors' duties and responsibilities, strategic decision-making and effective organizational management.
Through their participation, Mr. Dave and Ms. Onabake gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that will contribute to the continued growth and effectiveness of the Bougainville Youth Council. Upon successful completion of the course, the participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievement and commitment to professional development.
Their participation reflects BYF's ongoing commitment to promoting strong governance, accountability, transparency, and effective leadership within the organization. By investing in capacity-building opportunities such as the PNGID Director Development Course, BYF continues to strengthen its institutional foundation and enhance its ability to effectively represent and serve the youth of Bougainville.
The Director Development Training also provided an important platform for networking and knowledge sharing among participants from various corporate entities and associations, fostering collaboration and the exchange of best practices in leadership and governance.
